Q1P3: Cell Theory Reading and Google Form

1. Read the linked text. When you read it....read it for UNDERSTANDING. Really try to make sense of what you are reading. Take time to stop and reflect, reread parts you don't understand, and to stop and think about what you are reading means.

2. Complete the google form based on the reading. PLEASE use the text to look up the answers! Don't just guess.

FYI - When you click submit, it is probably going to mark every question wrong because in order for Google Forms to mark it correct, you would have to write the exact same words as Mrs. Roehm did in the answer key. Don't stress about the score. What is important is that you look at your answer and compare it to what the Google Form says the correct answer is. Then, you decide if your answer matched the correct answer.

3. To check in, go tell Mrs. Roehm the differences between unicellular and multicellular organisms.

Q1P4: If Cells And Molecules Could Talk...

This assignment is found in Google Classroom (Q1P4: If Cells and Molecules Could Talk...)

Read the directions in the If Cells and Molecules Could Talk Document in GC and complete the activity about the Cell Theory.

HUGE TIP FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT: Remember that non living things (like salt and sand) do NOT have cells!!!! When you are adding your speech bubbles, just remember that one of the pictures is a living thing (has cells, supports the cell theory) while one of the pictures is a non-living thing (does not have cells, only has molecules, does not follow the cell theory)

If you need more information about the Cell Theory, I have linked 2 resources you can use in the Google Classroom Assignment.

Check in with Mrs. Roehm when you are finished for a signature.

Q1P5: Microscope Mania

You will go through and look at the prepared glass slides that are on each of the microscopes around the room. Listen to Mrs. Roehm's directions for how to use a microscope and how to handle a slide.

1. After looking at your 1st 5-6 of the glass slides, go to the class Fig Jam linked in the Q1P5: Microscope Mania Google Classroom Assignment. Add a sticky note and write a Discourse on the the section of the Fig Jam that corresponds with your hour (ex the Top Right is for Section 5). Make sure you add your initials and your hour to your sticky note. For example, if I was in 1st hour, on my stick note I would write, MR1 (Stands for Mrs. Roehm 1st Hour). Here is a link to the CCC Page and the Sentence Starter Page for you to refer to. Make sure you put the CCC and Bullet point on your sticky note (ex SPQ BP2)

2. After adding your Discourse to the Fig Jam, go show Mrs. Roehm so she can approve it.

3. After looking at your 2nd round of 5 - 6 slides, go to the class Fig Jam and add another Discourse to your sticky note that you already added.

4. After adding your 2nd Discourse, go show Mrs. Roehm so she can approve it.

STUDENTS WORKING FROM HOME: If you email Mrs. Roehm, she can send you the virtual lab to complete if you can't do the lab in class because you are absent.
